Cultural
There is so much cultural influence in Brazil. The African history of slave trading and eventual emancipation led to a high concentration of African Brazilians in the north. Visit their land and learn some of the African dances they brought with them from their homeland. Germans came over from Europe and settled in the southern part of Brazil and the Portuguese settled throughout the country.
Brazil has the largest population of Japanese people outside of Japan. Visit Sao Paulo and enjoy a day spent in the Asian section of the city. And of course there are the indigenous people who were here before the European settlers. Visitors are welcome to spend some time with the Xavantes visiting their reservation. Enjoy the baroque era of the Portuguese with their lovely architectural colonial buildings along the Gold Road. Finally, immerse yourself in the natural culture of the forests, wetlands and waterfalls by visiting the Amazon, Pantanal and Iguassu Falls.
