Carnival Parades

The Access Group, Special Group and Champions' Carnival

The opening act at the Sambadrome is the Access Group Parade, which will start at 9:00 pm on Carnival Friday, February 5th, 2027.

This is the first in a series of Carnival parades held over the next four days at the Sambadrome. Saturday, February 6th, 2027, is scheduled for the second day of the Access Group competition, where samba schools in the second league will put on a spectacular show in a bid to gain a slot in the Special Group next year.

Carnival parades by the elite group begin on Carnival Sunday, February 7th, 2027, with four schools in the Special Group performing before a packed stadium, followed by the second day of the Special Group Parade on February 8th, 2027, with four other samba schools, and the third day of the Special Group Parade on February 9th, 2027, with the last four samba schools.
